OK GO are most famous for producing some of the most ambitious and watchable music videos around. However I feel that maybe this detracts from the overall point which is producing quality music.
Their first single, 'Get Over It', released seven years ago today was a fantastically angry yet melodic song. On the basis that this was a good start I decided to buy their self titled debut album, which I still maintain is the worst pink covered album I've ever bought. It just didn't work. The debut single was far superior to any of the album tracks.
They then released another album 'Oh No' which, I decided against listening too at length following the previous fiasco. This album had the infamous 'Here It Goes Again' with their most famous (up until the start of this month) video containing 8 treadmills and some top choreography.
The latest single, which is more than likely the final one from the album 'Of the Blue Colour of the Sky', is another fantastic single. It has made me curious to see whether they have grown up from the angry rockers of 2003 into a slightly more musically mature (definitely not actually mature if the video is anything to go by) and cultured band. Finally, although each video is enjoyable, for me it's about the music, not the 2 million hits on youtube within a day or the amount of takes it took to get the perfect video. However as they went to so much effort to make it for you I shall let you sample the video.
