Press Release

With our first two releases still doing damage to many a dancefloor, Hunter Vaughan's 'Krakken' and Frankie Ferrell's 'Get Down', Death Proof Recordings take great pleasure in introducing you to our 3rd release of our new venture. Machine Electrique's 'La Machine'.

After the success of their 1st collaborations, a remix of Portishead's 'Glory Box' and their EP on Circuit Freq Records last year. The gaelic duo go dark and broody yet resoundingly powerful on this latest effort. With a reminiscence of early rave, 'La Machine' is an electro-enduced, techno behemoth, reverberant hats and rasping synths take centre stage, layered over a heaving bassline that will no doubt own a funktion 1 system and any dancefloor that it surrounds. Constantly building and pushing it encompasses what these guys really know how to do, nail a breakdown!

Bringing up the back with the remix package is some stalwarts of the underground scene and the who's who of the new blood.
The now long-time established Kick Oh's (Southern Fried, Jack Knife) simple yet effective approach takes a more punchy electro-house tangent, with a superbly structured drumline and great use of the originals enigmatic synths, it bounces around like a raver on a pogo-stick! Anthony James' (Pole Position, Baroque, Blaubeat) crisp production skills shine through on his effort. Not just using what he was given in the remix package, he's splashed on his own subtle vocals and drawn up his own sultry synths to accompany it, making for a truly amazing tech-house production. Charlie Kane (Audiotrix, Bleach Feast) goes beyond his years on this one (he's only 16 years old!), this extremely well-educated youngblood has taken all that is good from breaks, electro & techno to make a throbbing, broken, onslaught of a remix, making us at Death Proof reminisce heavily and then slamming us forward again. And last but by no means least, label mates The Omega Men (Lot 49) execute yet another synonymous big room track, detuned wailing synths and pads sit feverishly over a riotous drum line, building and swaying into a track that would make any ardent techno fan doff his cap in respect.
